Satyrykon has been held in Legnica since 1977 and is one of the most prestigious international competitions for visual artists. Every year, thousands of artworks from around the globe are submitted to Satyrykon. For many years now, participants have been able to submit their works in two thematic categories, with gold, silver, and bronze medals, as well as two honorable mentions, being awarded. The jury selects the Grand Prix Satyrykon from entries in both categories.
Friday the 13th is the perfect day to announce the next – already the 48th – edition of Satyrykon! The theme for SATYRYKON 2025 is THE LESSER OF TWO EVILS. Of course, as always, submissions are also welcomed in the second, more general category – JOKE and SATIRE.
We are accepting entries until January 7, 2025, at 11:59 PM Polish time. You can submit your work online through the special form available on our website at https://satyrykon.pl/en/applications/
Once the submission phase is completed, the international jury (whose members are still a mystery) will select the entries that qualify for the second stage. From there, the path leads straight to the most enjoyable part – deliberations in Legnica. It is here that the jurors will physically evaluate the submitted works and award the official prizes. In addition to the honorable mentions, we will also present medals – statuettes for the main prize winners, traditional graphic diplomas, and the most prestigious award – the solid gold key for the Grand Prix winner.
And what else? Keen-eyed artists who regularly participate in our competition may notice something exciting… the prize pool has increased!
