In 1990 the „boy of Satyrykon”, as the graphic logo of the event, was designed by the graphic artist Zygmunt Januszewski. It quickly turned from an ornament into a recognized brand of the Legnica festival. In 2006 it was decided to humanize this symbol. The Zakopane-based sculptor Tomasz Ross gave it human form. Next, the organizers announced a popular vote among the residents of Legnica to give a name to the newly-created person (below a report from a session of the chapter).

During an open session on 21 June 2006 the Chapter read 180 ballots. Among the many diverse propositions, the most worthy of recognition was the patron of humour and the lampoonist, FILIP.
In accordance with the foregoing, the members of the Chapter decided that from 23 June the „Boy of Satyrykon” would bear the name FILIP. Thus ended the session.

FILIP - 'Boy of Satyrykon' , patron of humor and mockers

FILIP – the mascot of Satyrykon – turned 18 years old in 2008. Since that time we have had to treat him seriously. A ceremonial handing over to FILIP of his ID card was performed in person by the Mayor of Legnica, Tadeusz Krzakowski.
