Following the selection of the main awards by the Satyrykon jury, it is now time to present the special prizes granted by our Partners and Sponsors.
This year, for the first time as Mayor of Legnica, Maciej Kupaj had the honor of selecting a winner.
“The decision wasn’t easy, but the work of a renowned artist particularly caught my attention,” said Maciej Kupaj, Mayor of Legnica.
Marek Kwiatkowski – How to Fix Poland

Marek Kwiatkowski is a versatile artist specializing in graphic design, illustration, poster art, publishing graphics, drawing, painting, and photography. He is an active designer in fields such as poster design, book and magazine illustration, and philately. He has collaborated with over 20 magazines, working on layout and design of numerous issues. He currently works for the weekly magazine Polityka.

Grzegorz Szumowski – Special Award from the Director of the Legnica Cultural Centre
Marta Bilejczyk-Suchecka, Director of the Legnica Cultural Centre, awarded her special prize to a work by Grzegorz Szumowski.
Born in 1946 in Ożarów Mazowiecki, Grzegorz Szumowski is a highly regarded Polish satirical cartoonist. He debuted in 1972 in Przekrój and over the years collaborated with numerous national and international publications such as Karuzela, Polityka, Szpilki, and the Swiss magazine Nebelspalter. His works are characterized by masterful handling of themes and a humorous perspective on reality.

Weronika Żądło – Caricature Museum Award
Satyrykon has maintained a long-standing partnership with the Eryk Lipiński Museum of Caricature in Warsaw. One of the fruits of this collaboration is the Caricature Museum Award. This year, the prize goes to Weronika Żądło for her work “Better CIRKulations.”
Weronika Żądło is a young graphic designer and a student of visual communication at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław. Her artistic work balances functionality with expressive creativity, often addressing contemporary social and cultural issues. The awarded piece, “Better CIRKulations,” offers a satirical take on current societal phenomena.

Agim Sulaj – Andrzej Tomiałojć Award from the SATYRYKON Foundation
Satyrykon enjoys strong support from the SATYRYKON Foundation. On behalf of the Foundation’s Board, the Andrzej Tomiałojć Award is granted to Agim Sulaj for his work “The Lesser Evil.”
Agim Sulaj, born in 1960 in Tirana, is an Albanian painter and illustrator based in Italy. His artistic style blends realism with surrealism, often reflecting on contemporary social and political issues. His work has been exhibited in many European cities, including Rome, Paris, and London.
