Making different kinds of diplomas and so called souvenirs had been his way for artistic independence since the beginning of his artistic life. He wanted them to last. He turned the creative ways of preventing them from being rolled and left under a table into an anecdote. One of many anecdotes which make up his sort of personal auto-mythology. He once designed a calendar himself as well. It was at the beginning of the 70s and the calendar was for the year 2000. In an optimistic and a pessimistic version.
One can hardly believe it’ll have passed 5 years by 2016 since Get died. “Working on the book I somehow forgot that Get is dead and had impression that I’ll bring it to him for acceptance and he’ll accept it as a whole or make me change some details”, said Mirosław Ratajczak at promotional event of album entitled “Get Eugeniusza Stankiewicza”. Let us take this opportunity to invite you to meet the author of one of the most important Polish books of the year, for which an excellent occasion seems to be the promotion of our Satyrykon 2016 calendar devoted to Eugeniusz Get Stankiewicz. Similarly to Get’s artistic output expert and friend, we’d also like not only “the tangible” to last – well-known 1990 poster or yearly created diplomas – but the so called context of it, too. In our case this context’s built of constant inspiration, valuable ideas, “anticipating” Satyrykon’s topics, jury membership 11 times and shear twenty-year-long friendship.
